Essex Day

Come celebrate history at our town’s 51st annual Essex Day celebration!

Every year, the Town of Essex comes together on the first Saturday of August and celebrates our community with a town-wide yard sale and street party. Come join the fun and see what makes Essex special.

When is it?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, time 10am - 2pm - Entrance to this family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Main Street in Essex, NY (plus yard sales in the surrounding area)

Main Events‍‍

• ‍Enjoy refreshments at local restaurants: Barn Door Tavern (open at 10am), The Essex Ice Cream Cafe (open at 7am), The Essex Inn on the Adirondack Coast  (open 11am), The Old Dock Restaurant & Marina (open 12noon), The Pink Pig Cafe (open at 8:30am)
• Browse local shops:  The Adirondack Art Association Gallery, Book and Leaf, The Neighborhood Nest (Celebrating their 30th Anniversary!), Pink Pig Cottage Antiques, Smiles Studio Arts‍
• Vendor Fair: More than 40 vendors! Click HERE to register‍
• Live Music: Too Tall String Band (10am - noon), Scott Sileo (12:30pm - 2pm) Made possible, in part, by the Essex County Arts Council's Cultural Assistance Program Grant with funding provided by Essex County. Also made possible, in part, by Triple Green Jade Farm

• ‍Food Trucks: Papa Duke's BBQ and Indian Bay Marina Pizza on Point Woodfired Pizza, Hotdogs for Hospice by the Essex Community Church‍
• Town-wide yard sale: Not on Main Street? No Problem! As space permits, we’re offering free street space to Essex residents and community non-profits. Click HERE to register!
• Book Sale: Belden Noble Memorial Library will host their annual Essex Day book sale at the library from 10am - 4pm. After 3pm, fill a bag of books for just $5!
• Bake Sale & Beverages at the Essex Community Church

What else is happening? 

• Reber Rock Farm Dinner Jamaican style food served 5pm - 8pm, Live Music
• Barn Door Tavern presents: Live Music by "The Dokeys" (Tim Singer, Smitty, Chris Stokes, and Bob Kat) starts at 7pm, Saturday, Aug 2nd- no cover, full bar.
• Essex Inn on the Adirondack Coast Open from 11am-2pm, Saturday for Essex Day, full bar, serving lobster rolls, and ceasar salad wraps (with or without chicken) to-go, eat on the porch or backyard. Dinner begins at 5pm (reservations recommended)
